Direct answer

Soil in Tiny Eden is a mix of components with NPK values and physical properties (drainage, water retention). Assign a plant and the game shows its target soil; your job is to build toward that target, then fix the mix when you repurpose the planter.

Core rules

  • Assign first, mix second β€” Plant Info shows the target for the assigned plant and stage.
  • Components are finite inputs β€” compost, sand and clay come from materials, biomass and shops.
  • Wrong soil blocks growth β€” repurposing a planter for a different crop fails with a soil-composition warning.
  • Drainage and water retention tune the mix** β€” some plants want fast-draining soil, others wet-retentive.

Exact values

The SERP gap here is exact per-plant, per-stage component quantities. The Plant Info sweep is capturing them from the current 1.0 build; until a plant passes its gate, its soil page shows targets with UNKNOWN numeric values instead of inventing them.

Evidence note

The assign-plant β†’ soil target model is official and observed. Quantities are collected per plant and published only when verified in 1.0.
